ASN card

Helps separate hosting, ISP and CDN for abuse and peering.

What is an ASN?

An Autonomous System Number is a network operator’s BGP identity. Mapping an IP to an AS helps with abuse, hosting and peering.

This tool merges Team Cymru whois and RIPEstat. Confirm prefix ownership with whois/RDAP. Queries leave from this host.

Frequently asked questions

What is AS15169?

Google. 1.1.1.1 is Cloudflare (AS13335); 8.8.8.8 is Google.

ASN vs IP?

ASN is the operator identity; an IP is one address they announce.

RIPE, ARIN, APNIC?

Regional internet registries. RIPEstat is Europe-heavy; other RIRs show up in whois.

Does anycast confuse AS?

Yes. 1.1.1.1 is Cloudflare AS13335, but packets go to the nearest PoP.

What is prefix hijack?

An unauthorised AS announcing your prefix. This tool is not a live BGP feed; RPKI/IRR are separate.
